Tech Rehearsal Guidelines and Schedule
Each group booked in a Fringe venue is allotted 2 hours of tech time (the schedule will be posted below when it is finalized). This time is used to set light and audio levels and perform cue-to-cue. If there is time during the 2 hours, you can do a complete run-through of your show.
Things you must bring to your tech rehearsal:
- Two unmarked copies of your script
- Two copies of a CD of 60 minutes of pre-show music and all sound to be played during your show (do not bring iPods, laptops, or your aunt's 8-track)
- Your cast
- A stage manager to call cues
- Signed Waiver of Liability forms, if you have not already turned them in. You will not be able to rehearse unless every performer and member of your crew has each signed a copy of the form.
The venue technicians are professionals; they know their jobs and they know the venues. They are also running four to six shows with multiple performances during the Festival and must manage the needs of all performers. The technicians will do their best to accommodate you, but there may be technical requests that are beyond the scope of what they can provide. Fringe shows, by nature, must be low tech. Keep this in mind as you are designing your show and preparing for the tech rehearsal. Do not add any technical requirements that were not included on your application.
The venue technicians are also responsible for your safety and the safety of the audience. Most importantly, they are your best friends at Fringe: be very, very nice to them.
