Audience Diversity and Access Program (A-DAP)
Theater in New Orleans has a long and rich history, and continues to evolve as a vibrant medium which fosters artistic expression and the exploration of the human condition.
The New Orleans Fringe Festival is a multi-day, multi-location festival of fresh theater in all its forms, and is deeply committed to the community which nurtures and supports it.
In honoring that commitment to the community, we are pleased and excited to announce that this year's Festival will become even more accessible through our ADAP – Audience Diversity and Access Program - reaching out to new audiences by subsidizing tickets for selected shows in a substantive and organized fashion.
This opportunity is being offered to potential theater-goers who, for one reason or another -- lack of exposure, ticket prices, mobility -- have not been able to partake of the wonderful diversity of Fringe Festival theater productions.
Groups receive 15-20 tickets and buttons each and self-organize to see shows in small groups. They decide what shows they want to see, and Fringe is available to provide guidance and suggestions about shows. Groups are responsible for making all logistical arrangements and providing feedback to the Fringe about their experiences.
ADAP is not just about giving away tickets – it’s about building audiences and expanding opportunities for our whole community to hear and see the diverse messages that are woven into the work of Fringe performers.
