If you like theater, working with talented people and want to support arts in New Orleans, then volunteer with the Fringe! Every volunteer gets a free Fringe t-shirt and for every shift you work, you get a free ticket!
The Fringe can't happen without volunteers. We need help promoting the festival, managing venues, selling tickets, pouring beer, painting signs, and breaking the festival down!
It's easy to volunteer! Just follow these steps:
- Click this link:
- Enter your email address: (You will NOT need to register an account on VolunteerSpot)
- You then browse the available volunteer shifts, find the ones that match your schedule and interests, and sign up. VolunteerSpot will send you an automated confirmation and reminders.
Volunteers must attend one pre-Festival orientation. That's when you'll get your t-shirt and tickets. 2014 orientation dates:
Tuesday, December 11th at 7pm
Monday, December 17th at 7pm
Tuesday, December 18th at 6pm
All orientations will take place at Byrdie's Gallery, located at 2422A St. Claude Ave.
Here are some of the shifts we need filled:
Volunteer At Venues
Venue Volunteers include Ticket Takers and Ticket Sellers. You help run the shows by selling tickets, buttons, and 6-show passes and taking tickets, distributing surveys and assisting the House Managers.
Volunteer at Festival Events (Parade, Free-For-All, Pre-Party and more!)
We need your help at other Festival events too! Volunteers help set up the Free-For-All Tent, run Tent activities during the Festival, help out with the Parade, set up for the Pre-party, help out at Central Box Office, work the Spoken Word special event, sell beer at the Free-For-All Tent and more!
Volunteer for Festival Setup and Breakdown
We need your help setting up the tent, painting signs, decorating the Free-For-All Lounge, setting up Family Fringe...and of course breaking everything down after the festival. Remember....you get your ticket before the Fringe Fest, so even if you shift is at the end of the festival, you can still use your ticket anytime during the Fest!
Host an Out-of-Town Artist
Fringe makes an extra effort to ease the cost and concern of finding lodging for the week of the festival for artists. We are composing a group of Marigny and Bywater residents who are interested in “hosting” a Fringe artist during the week of the festival. Hosting can mean acting as ambassador to our great city (many of our artists have never been here before!) and hosting can simply mean offering a couch, pillow, and indoor plumbing. The choice is yours. Want to learn more? Host an Artist
